Film: Pirates of the Carribean 3 - At World's End

Just watched Pirates 3 last night at the Puchong IOI mall - midnight show!

I felt that overall the film was slightly above average. I thought TWO was better - more tautly paced. THREE had its ups and downs in terms of pace. There was a bit more conniving amongst the pirate friends - as pirates do, i guess. It a few funny moments involving Jack Sparrow.

Action wise, it was good fun towards the end in the battle between the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman.

Romance-wise it was a bit weak.

In all, a good fun watch. Be sure to stay after the end credits though.

film: rocky balboa (2007)

my first thought when i learned about the rocky balboa film... about an old & retired fighter (rocky of course) battling an unpopular reigning world champion... was WHAT!??

what does stallone think he is going to pull off? is anybody going to buy the idea?

strangely enough, the film rocky balboa gained some fairly good reviews.

i decided to watch the film, and found it surprisingly good.

do catch it if you have the chance.

fly.fm wake up your brain. gal wins RM7500

by chance i was listening to fly.fm's "wake up your brain" competition. the jackpot before today stood at RM7,500. and the question was "3% of the women in the world cannot live without this. what is this?" a caller named Yen called in this morning and answered correctly that "this" is a newspaper. the girl was a bit confused at first when phat fabes screamed that she was right. the contest had been running for months now, and nobody had been able to answer correctly resulting in the jackpot snowballing to RM7,500. well done yen.

Film comment - Stay - McGregor / Watts

I just finished watching the film Stay starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts. The film is directed by Marc Forster.

The film throws a number of mind benders and i found it difficult to guess what was real and what was imagination until the end.

A good watch though as the pacing is taut and holds its audience. The filming is artistic and beautiful. Catch it.
